They say, “late is better than never,” so,
to sum it up in one grand run-on sentence-
Christmas in Uganda looked like a grand lunch of meat, rice, cabbage, potatoes, and soda served on tables with tablecloths underneath a gazebo decorated with handmade banners and signs followed by a photo shoot capturing each child in their new (used) clothing articles and mothers (traumatized young women in the trauma center) trying on their new (used) garments as well, and it ends with dancing and sweet facetime calls home – a Christmas that I will forever hold close to my heart.
this is what it’s all about, a celebration of the one who came as a baby, humble and dependent, to save you + me because of his abundant love for us
New year’s day we headed out from Uganda into Kenya, where we are currently in Mombasa!
These are just a few of the photos that were captured on Christmas day in ChildVoice‘s Lukome Center.
merry (late) Christmas + happy (not as late) new year!
xoxo
