Every night, I fall asleep under the night sky. I have been in this country for over two weeks and some of the newness has faded away. However, I never cease to be amazed by the ever-changing display of stars, hazy clouds, and soft moonlight. I never get tired of the colors splayed above the roof each morning. Vibrant and mellowed pink, yellow, and orange.
At launch, we each were given a key necklace with a prophetic word on it. The hope and prayer for the keys is that through them the Lord would reveal something that we can grow in or walk into.
My key simply says, “faith.”
The word faith seems so broad, almost generic in a way, that I had no idea what it meant. The Lord has shown me this word is most definitely much deeper than I first thought. In Guatemala two summers ago, God gave me sunset orange clouds as a personal reminder of His faithfulness in a time of uncertainty. It did not click for me that I was literally waking up to that reminder every single morning until two days ago.
Every day I awake to a brilliant display of His faithfulness to me in the orange sky I see above. Every day I can have faith because I know that He is with me; I see it in the sky.
He keeps growing my faith and teaching me to dwell in Him.
I have one month left here, and will be continuing the ministries I’ve been working with the past couple weeks. In the mornings I teach English for two different classes with my team. The classes are small so it is very relational and I love it! On Monday and Thursday afternoons we perform at the local trauma hospital for the patients and then play games and build relationships. Our goal is to just get them out of the wards and outside in the open air, and build bridges through Christian songs and skits. Then Monday, Tuesday, and Friday we build relationships at a cafe named Green Mango. The cafe employs and trains at-risk or rescued girls. We are teaching them conversational English and again just building relationships and praying for them. I truly love each one of the ministries and look forward to spending the next month being the tangible love of Christ in each of them.
Life is sweet. Jesus is sovereign. Please pray over each of my ministries and that our eyes would be open to how we can connect people to the Kingdom during our time here in Cambodia.
xoxo
