Hello, friends! I’m Abigail. I’m a sister, a daughter, and a Jesus-follower. Senior in high school. Born and {mostly} raised a Georgia girl with a little bit of northern pride thrown in there. I smile a lot and laugh too loudly.

Our sweet Jesus has given me a passion for life, for living. He has given me joy that cannot be contained. I’m so thankful for this gift of life, of life in Him. It is much too beautiful a gift to live it anything less than vibrantly.

I love coffee. I do not love mornings.

I love to dance in the rain. I love to pour in to the lives of others. I love chick-fil-a {chick-fil-bae}.

God set a fire in my heart for the world in 2013 and that fire has only gotten brighter. But more on that in a minute.

I began a personal relationship with Christ when I was 5 years old, in my dad’s {the children’s pastor of our church at the time} office. I continued to grow up in a loving, Christian home and continued to follow God. That day in my dad’s office was the day I started followed Him, but my faith hit a huge growth point in 7th grade at my church’s youth event, Disciple Now.

That weekend, God showed up to me in real, tangible ways. He spoke to my heart as I knelt before Him and showed me the weight of His sacrifice, the pain Jesus endured on that cross, and the life-altering truth that He willingly did it out of love for me.

It rocked my world. It ignited an even greater passion in me that continues to grow. That weekend, Jesus became very real to me. The stories I had grown up hearing became real. The love the Creator of the universe had for me, Abigail Converse, became real.

So now. 2013, right before my freshman year of high school, the Lord spoke to me once again in a quiet but powerful voice that could not be ignored. My dad had recently gone to Ethiopia on a mission trip and I was talking about it casually with one of my friends.

I wasn’t expecting to hear from the Lord in that moment.

I wasn’t prepared.

But God spoke to me then. In the quiet of my room. On a random August day. He told me “Abigail. These people are loved, by me and now by you. Go and show them that.”

This time, He rocked my world for the world. That day the Lord placed a passion in my heart for both the world and the people of the world. This passion has so far carried me on short term trips to Ethiopia, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Haiti.

And now He carries me to this. The World Race. I’m so humbled and excited and thankful for this opportunity. I get to live in five different countries over the course of nine months and carry out this calling God has given me.

Please pray for me. Pray for this journey that the Lord is continuing to carry me through. Pray that the financial support I need would come in. (you can donate at the top of this page!) Pray for the hearts of my team and the hearts of the people we will meet come September.

And please, feel free to browse this blog as often as you’d like! I will do my best to keep it and you all updated on this journey. (:
