Driving down to Gainesville, Georgia and listening to Justin Bieber, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I arrived a day early and met a couple of my squad-mates for dinner and just to hangout. The next day, we drove to the World Race campus and were immediately greeted on the road by World Race staff yelling with excitement. We found our campsite and began setting up our tents and meeting all of our 45 other squad mates. It was so overwhelming!

I didn’t expect training camp to be so intense. It was so much better than I could have ever imagined. I was finally able to find out why I was there. I was able to learn things about myself that I never knew. It was so great and totally worth all of the time and preparation.

Here’s a sample schedule:

7:15 – workout

8:00- breakfast

9:00 –  morning session

11:00 – team building exercise

12:15 – lunch

1:00 – free time

2:00 – session

3:30 – small group session

5:00 – processing time

6:30 – Dinner

8:00 – night worship and session

9:30 – bonfire

Each day of the week, our food with themed from different areas of the world. On Africa day, the girls were required to serve the men first and then eat their food on the ground. On India day, we ate with our hands and had to cover our heads in respect to their culture. Everyday was something new and I was able to learn so much about each culture.

Camp was not only emotionally exhausting but also physically exhausting! Everyday we had workouts and were required to hike 2 miles with our packs on in under 35 minutes. I’m still sore! I learned so much discipline this week. Getting up 6:30am in 40 degrees weather is probably the worst experience ever, especially when you bundled up in your sleeping bag!

Overall, training camp was the most challenging, most exhausting, most spiritual, most fun 10 days I’ve ever endured. I made 45 new friends and formed a community like never before. I’m definitely more prepared AND more nervous for my launch in January. I cannot wait to start this journey with my new family and to be able to share my experiences with everyone at home.

Please consider supporting me financially and in your prayers!
