This past week it was extremely rainy and going into ministry I was just praying that God would bring a lot of people into our path. We started out the day by just walking down the street into the back of the community. I got to play with some adorable kids while my team talked to two women but then we prayed over them and walked down the road.
We came across two women cleaning out chicken intestines and my teammate Haley stopped to talk to them. We sat and hung out with them just asking about their life, what they like to do, and families. They did not speak English very well so it was a blessing to have our translator there with us. As we were about to leave we asked to pray over them; before we started to pray the Holy Spirit just asked me to see if they had any pain in their feet, hands, elbows, and knees. To my surprise they said yes to all of those areas, so we spilt into groups and Vanessa and I began praying over one of the woman. She opened up in prayer just asking to completely and totally heal his daughter while I prayed in tongues. As I started to pray over her I kept thinking about the Todd White sermon I had listened to that morning about how all you need to do to heal someone is cry out “In Jesus name you are healed.” It is as simple as that, Todd kept speaking that into that message because it reigns true.
The bible tells us that if we use Jesus’s name that nothing is impossible. When you bring Jesus into a situation healing happens, salvation happens, restoration happens because he is those things. He is the one who brings them so by inviting him we invite all of those things too.
I ended the prayer with, “In the name of Jesus you ARE healed.” When we ended the others ended too and we asked the woman how they felt and then if they could move around. As they started to move their faces changed from stone cold to filled with complete joy. They jumped up and started dancing around laughing! We were all in shock as they danced around us. I couldn’t hold back my tears as I watched these beautiful women be real representations of Gods power through our simple hands.
Pray, invite Jesus, and just rest in his presence everywhere you go. In Jesus name go out and speak the gospel.
