Hello Everyone!!! My name is Abi, and I am 18 years old and a senior in high school. Jesus Christ has always been a big part of my life, thanks to my parents and grandparents for teaching me to love Him with all of my heart. Through these past years of Highschool and junior high, I have attended Minooka Bible Church. Being involved in their student ministry has always been a main focus of mine, because I love the community it brings as well as the fun atmosphere it has. Another main focus of mine is school, and it being my senior year, I am trying to finish strong and I am counting down the days until graduation.
I have lived in Minooka for most of my life, with my father, Stacey, my mother, Kristen, and my younger sister, Alysse. We also have a dog named Weston and a cat named Hanz (they are very big parts of our lives, ask my mother). I have been blessed with such amazing parents that make me strive for a Godly relationship like theirs, and an awesome twelve year old sister, who I even look up to most of the time. For my whole life, my parents have brought me to church and I am beyond thankful for that. Because of them, my future looks a whole lot different, and I could never thank them enough for puting that kind of desire in my heart– a desire to step out, a desire to share His Love.
The summer before my sophomore year of high school, I had the opportunity to go on my very first mission trip to St. Lucia. At first, I was very hesitant about leaving my family and friends for a whole two weeks, but I could truly hear God telling me to go, and man, am I glad that I did. That trip made me realize that I have a true passion for children’s ministry, as well as talking to kids my age about Christ. About 3 months after I got back from St. Lucia, I had heard about another mission trip to Bulgaria, Europe. This interested me, mainly because I have never heard of a mission team going there, and when I had asked for more information about it and heard that we would be puting on a vacation bible school while there, I was in. This is another trip that really expanded my love for missions work. And when I heard about the World Race Gap Year, I knew that it was something for me.
With this decision of committing to the World Race, comes the time when I need to put all of my trust in the Lord, and remember that he always has a BIGGER plan. He has a plan for my fundraising and he has a plan for me after I embark onto this incredible journey.
Thank you for supporting me, whether it be through prayer or donation. I could not be more excited for the year that is ahead of me.
