Hey there friends and family, and maybe that occasional random person who found me on the internet (welcome, my name is Abi). I have officially moved into my new home in Lesotho!
This month looks a lot different than last. My month in Swaziland was spent living with all fifty-five of my squad mates, but my time in Lesotho is spent living with my team of six girls and another team of five girls! We are staying at a base in the Malealea valley, at an elevation of around six thousand feet (5960 feet according to Caitlyns watch) surrounded by the most beautiful mountains that I have ever seen.
Ministry also looks very different than it did in Swaziland. Last month, I spent each day doing childrens ministry and spent close to all of my time with kids. Here in Lesotho, each day is very scheduled and I am loving it! Monday through Thursday we all wake up at six, take a walk at six thirty, spend time doing devotionals and digging into God’s word and spending time praying from seven until eight, and then we eat breakfast and then leave for our ministry. We walk about two miles to a village and spend time pouring into the locals, helping them with laundry, dishes, cleaning, and more. We spend a lot of time reading scripture and praying over them as well.
This type of ministry is one that I am not very used to but I am loving it! I love the fact that we get to leave an impact on the locals while helping them with every day duties and praying for what ever we can for them in their circumstances. Today, we had the opportunity to minister to and pray for two women. One was eighty-nine and the other was one hundred and six (wow am I right)! We shared scripture with them and prayed for them. After that, we helped them with chores that they needed done around the house.
After our village ministry, we walk back to our base/home around lunch time and then we have an hour break to eat and chill out until we start our manual labor portion of the day. Our second half of the day looks like helping our host family with stuff around the house, digging up dirt and bringing it back to the base, and much more.
Oh, and how could I forget to mention Momma Faith. Momma Faith is an amazing woman who cooks our meals, and let me tell you.. they are delicious. She is the best.
As you can tell, my life here in Lesotho is quite amazing.
Thanks for reading fam, it means so much.
Love you all.

P.S. There is a water heater in our bathroom, so yes, indeed, we do get warm showers.
P.P.S. I love oatmeal.
