God has reignited my passion for writing again here in Africa. Thought I’d share with you all a few poems from my time here so far!

“Just Be”

The southern wind blows the leaves

The fill of summer controls the breeze.

The air is calm and personal

A pure grown bean roasted slow.

Some say that life will make you cold

But I believe in a sovereign hold.

A firm strong grip that won’t relent

A carpenter’s hand, a perfect print.

How a smile can change the times

How His smile is perfect and kind.

Resting still the restless heart

Bringing it home to the peaceful start.

In and out, then in again

He stills our breathe to mimic Him.

With words of power, love and sound

His atmosphere is all around.

For this is Him who breathed it all

Who takes our hand and heads our call.

Who pours out love so endlessly

Upon His child and says, “just be.”

Patient Love

I sit outside

But I abide inside

I choose Joy

For You chose me.

Life will come

The punch may hurt

I choose peace

Oh my Comforter.

Waves do crash

Perfect time & way

And so my life

Your beautiful display.

Where’s the joy

In a waveless ocean

For in the swells

Your works in motion.

Chipping and shaping

Restoring anew

Your Son Your Child

All the way through.

For patient love

You’ve called me too

And through it all

I choose You.

Home

The gaze of my Father

The love in those eyes

Breaks my resistance

Consumes my existence.

In stillness I sit

Beside You my God.

Peace by Your fire

Freedom in Your desire.

Lord oh my God

The beauty of You!

Home, I’m Home

No longer I roam!

For once I was lost

But now I am found

Embraced by my Father

His Love all around!

His Breath my life

His Voice my bread.

I sit at the table

And feast with my Dad!
