I am speechless… literally.
I set out at the beginning of the year and prayed that this right here would be the reality, and now it is! Wow…
There are no words that can properly express my gratitude to all of you who have invested in me with your money, prayers, and time!
God provided in big time ways, and all it took was for me to hand Him off the old reigns, and he took care of the rest!
I’ve never climbed Mount Everest but I have read Into Thin Air, so hear me out on this one…
A year ago $16,267 looked and felt like Mount Everest looming before me, with its peak hidden by the clouds.
Base Camp #1: I stood gazing upward and tried to find the energy to take the baby steps necessary to start the climb. By God’s grace I did, and off we went.
Base Camp #2: Here I met my team. We pitched our tents and hammocks on the rocky slope for 10 days and began our elevation training. Fueled by God and community, we grew in strength. Arm in arm, and with reignited hope, we made straight our path up the mountain.
Base Camp #3: We made it, but not without some falls along the way. I had tried to run ahead of our group and had found myself in a crevasse. There I stayed, for days it felt but in reality just moments, until a mighty hand reached down and grabbed me. Lifting me up in strength and love, He placed me be His side and onward we went. I had fallen, but I had risen, and with my carabiner secured to His line, I could freely ascend without fear.
Base Camp #4: Already? I blinked and we were here, and I hadn’t done a thing. The sky showed off it’s light, and I stood and took in the breathtaking view. “Beautiful,” I thought to myself, “simply beautiful!”
Summit Day: Did I take a helicopter here? I stood on the summit and looked down at the base camp I had been just the night before. “How could it be?” I pondered. And the wind in it’s peaceful way responded, “Because it’s Me.”
So back to a logistical note for a second.
I have a supporter who is giving monthly to me, and because of that my account will appear fully funded by early next year!
