Hey everybody!
If you don’t know much about me and want too, here’s a quick synopsis of my life…
I was born into the amazing Ballew family on July 7, 1992 in Billings, MT. I grew up in the company of my loving parents, Mark and Melody, and my three siblings at the time, Will, Hope, and Joy. We were home schooled until high school, and because of that we did absolutely everything together! We added another boy to the family in 2000 when we adopted Simeon 6 hours after he was born.
When my high school days came to a close in 2010, I headed 2 hours west to Bozeman, MT where I would spend the next 2 years of my life at Montana State University. I started out in Civil Engineering, then Sophomore year I switched over to Sports Medicine.
Following my 2nd year of college, I spent the summer in Alaska fishing in the Prince William Sound. Upon leaving the beautiful state of Alaska, and with no idea of what I really wanted to study in college, I decided to take a flight to Denver, CO and see what this new environment had to offer.
I ended up staying there for 2 years, and after a short stint in both broadcasting school and real estate, God opened up to me the world of overseas missions. In June of 2014 I heard of the World Race through a friend of mine, and from that moment on I had a strong sense that God was calling me to take this venture! Shortly after that a friend and I came up with a 5 year plan for starting an orphanage in whatever country God would impress upon our hearts. With that on the horizon, the World Race offered a great first step into the life that God was calling me to walk!
In October I moved up to Missoula, MT to live near family and work for my soon to be brother-in-law at the local Glass Doctor business that he owns. In November I went on a life-changing medical missions trip to Ethiopia with my sister Hope, who is a legendary nurse, and an amazing organization called Tomorrow Come Foundation. We set up a clinic near the small town of Ambo, Ethiopia, and for 8 days we provided medical assistance to the locals there. We spent most of the remaining time at New Hope Orphanage with all the beautiful orphans there, and even got to help in the construction of their new library. The trip completely rocked my world, and cemented in me that this indeed was what I was designed to do!
