Hey from the Philippines! Okay…yeah…actually I’m in Thailand now but I wanted to recap our time in the Philippines through a quick compilation of some of my favorite photos from the Philippines. Enjoy!
Above: Our first weekend in the Philippines consisted of the ‘Boys Camp’ with Dennis, Bernard, April and Joshua.
Two boys who lived down the street from us – Dan and Triston. We passed them twice a day…everyday…on the way to the house we were building for our friend Rudy. In case you were wondering, they’ve got some serious skills with a hacky sack.
Day 1: ballin’ with some boys we met in town. We met them on the street and they led us down a trail through a meadow to get to this sweet basketball court. No worries, it was safe.
This is our friend, Rudy, standing in the house we were helping him build for him and his family. His smile says it all. I really do wish you all could experience his joy in person.
Our new friend Dane reading Cody’s bible to practice English. This was a truly beautiful moment.
Mama Jo teaching me how to cook lumpia – a traditional Filipino dish. Mama Jo is a WONDERFUL woman and I miss her dearly.
The kids who lived in our village in Mindoro. Their bellies and smiles were so full. Don’t forget to be thankful for the abundance of food you have at your fingertips! Not everyone is that fortunate.
My sweet friend, Evie, who wanted nothing more than to love and be loved. What a joy to share the endless love of Christ with her!
In Mindoro we partnered with an organization called Samaritan’s Feet. We took food and shoes to children living in remote villages – this was one of the schools in a village we went to.
The beautiful island of Mindoro, featuring a fishing boat!
I got to meet up with my cousin, Josh, and his wife, Beth, who have been living in the Philippines for the past couple of years. They did a really neat thing and had a baby a couple weeks ago! What an absolute blessing to get to see them during such a sweet season and meet Baby Nate!
