As Thanksgiving passed just last week, I thought I would share about a habit I have been developing! There is a Jewish custom of saying 100 blessings a day and after some conviction I decided to try it out for 2 weeks. Some days it came easily and other days it felt a bit like homework. Regardless of how much effort it took, this practice never failed to refresh my mind and spirit.

When we are in a posture of thanksgiving the enemy has no room to stand. When we are in a posture of thanksgiving we experience life abundant.

Col 4:2 says “Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving.” This is just one of hundreds of examples of where scripture speaks of thanksgiving and its power. While saying 100 blessings a day may not be practical in all seasons of life, even saying ONE can cultivate an attitude of worship.

UPDATES: This idea of thanksgiving has been crucial for me as we’ve been going through a lot of transitions as a squad!

  • Team Changes! For ministry purposes the women’s teams had to switch up into 2 larger teams rather than 4 small ones. This came as a shock to all of us and took a lot of processing. Team Manna will forever have a place in my heart yet I am excited to tackle this new season with team Jubilee as a new team leader!
  • Home for the Holidays! In order to best abide by COVID guidelines for many states, I will be home for all of December before our launch to Guatemala in January! We are doing virtual discipleship training, worship, team times, and the like. I definitely miss our sweet Gainesville campus and being with the squad all the time, but I am so thankful for this season at home to put into practice what I’ve learned and to be refreshed (never have I been so grateful for washing machines, warm showers, and espresso).
  • THANK YOU! Team Manna came to Arkansas for Thanksgiving and it has been SO sweet! We did a bake sale and were completely blown away by your massive support! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for loving us so well!! My friends and I are stunned by the generosity of my Arkansas friends and family 🙂

Thank you for reading and for all your love and support!
