Listen. Be Still. Wait.
These are words I’ve been hearing from God and learning to grow in. Understanding that I have the capability to hear God’s voice AND act boldly on it is a new and wonderful thing to my faith.
My team sat down this Monday with our list of ministry hosts to pray and listen for vision as we headed into new opportunities. I am still learning a lot about listening to the Lord, but I do know the word “hope” was heard by numerous people in our group. The next day we drove into San Antonio, Guatemala to meet a new host and discover what kind of work we would be doing. Pastor José let us know we would be reaching out to the community of Esperanza which means HOPE. This was just the door creaking open to all the God has in store for this time as we get to join the wonderful people of Guatemala. Hope does not disappoint (Romans 5). There is something sacred in the waiting, in the listening, and in the hoping. We can choose to see hope in the ordinary and in the adventure of this day. Time spent hoping and waiting on the Lord will never be time wasted.
UPDATE: Team Jubilee will be working in Itzapa, Esperanza, Los Aposentos, Parramos, and anywhere else the Lord leads. Our work will consist of lots of house visits/building community so that new ministries can be started as well as teaching English & Bible! Prayers for sound minds and bodies during this crazy time would be wonderful!
With love,
Abby
