This past week I celebrated my birthday with my awesome squad! They celebrated far more than I could have ever expected (when you can’t go to the store- you make rocks into festive decor). I felt so surrounded and loved. Yet with almost 20 straight hours of rain, full porta-potties, a slightly damp tent, muddy feet, and an aching for home in my heart, I started to slip into a negative mindset. It is easy to miss the little things when living here. He gently reminded me, “I lead you into green pastures” and “I am all you need.” Suddenly I realized that even the plastic chair I sit in at breakfast is a privilege. I am entitled to absolutely nothing. God gives the gift of each day. I get to wake up each morning in my cozy tent and hunger for the Lord with my new family here. I get to see his beautiful creation more hours of the day than not. What a privilege it is to be here and let Him fill my cup DAILY.
So this is your gentle reminder that whatever you’re doing right this minute (yes YOU), choose to see the beauty. Choose to let Abba in. We have the ability to choose life or death inside our minds.
“I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10
Choose abundance friends!
Much love,
Abbs
Exciting update: My squad is going to DeQuincy, Louisiana next week for hurricane disaster relief!! We couldn’t be more excited to get our hands in the mud (quite literally) and serve. Be praying for every interaction to be intentional and for us to be able to spill some love into DeQuincy!
