Today is nine months until launch!! Nine months until I leave the country for nine months!
There is no real way to put into words what it is like to prepare for the race. As holidays come and go, it is a weird and kind of sad feeling knowing I will not be spending them with my family and friends next year. Raising $16,600 is not an easy task and some days it feels impossible. The thought of leaving everything I know and am comfortable with for nine months can some days be overwhelming and terrifying.. But I am SO EXCITED!
Spending the holidays all over the world with my sweet squad, sounds like heaven on Earth. Watching donations come in from people from all areas of my life is so encouraging and a beautiful reminder of how God provides when you trust his plan. Leaving America will not always be easy but God is already working in Swaziland, Thailand, and Nicaragua. He knows exactly where we are going, who we will meet, and how He will use us for HIS glory!
I have nine more months of “normal” life here and I want to embrace every second of it. While I am so excited about the race, I need to remember the importance of being present and enjoying my time here with the ones I love. I am finding joy in the little things about life, like laughing with my friends for seemingly no reason and playing with my puppy. Preparing to leave for nine months is not easy, but I am so excited to see how the Lord works both here at home and when we leave.
