Hi everyone! God moved in HUGE ways at training camp and I am so excited to begin sharing everything that happened with you all!
One night we talked about the cost of discipleship. Deon, an incredible speaker who works with Adventures, told us that salvation is free but living in the kingdom will cost you everything. He challenged us to truly surrender all to God because he is worthy of our sacrifice. Matthew 16:25 says “If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” The concept is simple, but the execution is HARD. Giving up comforts of home, time with family and friends, putting faith above fear, and putting the good of others far above myself is hard, but He is worthy. He already gave it all for me, the least I can do is give my all back to Him.
I prayed hard about this and decided that while it won’t be easy, I am choosing to surrender all. I am willing to give up whatever He asks of me so that He is glorified. With this, comes surrendering my feelings. My feelings do not get to control me. No matter how I feel, I KNOW that God is GOOD and He is working things out for good! I will walk out of fear and shame and walk into joy and freedom. I will walk through the hard things because I am confident God is as close to me in the low places as He is in the high places.
On July 18th, I was baptized and declared that I will love and pursue Jesus for my whole life!!!! I declared that I will walk in freedom!! I will seek whatever the Lord is calling me to and run recklessly after it. I know this doesn’t mean everything will be easy, but it will be worth it because HE IS WORTH IT!
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36
