So since my past few weeks have been filled with emotional goodbyes I thought I'd like to keep it light and write a goodbye blog to my 1st world. I can't take full credit for the idea that I got from the lovely Jolene Campbell of N Squad. Enjoy!
Pumpkin Spice Latte
I know I don't have to say goodbye to coffee period. But I'll miss my easily accessable coffee and my wonderful pumpkin spice latte the most of all. Until Fall 2014 my dear friend, seems like a lifetime.
Local Jacksonville Eats and Such
Jax has been home for about 15 years now and I constantly find new things I love about this town. Ask any of my friends, I'm addicted to the local jems of Jacksonville! Any newbie that comes into town has to watch out, because I love nothing more than a good tour. Angie's, I'll dream about your Peruvian Sauce when I'm in Peru…mainly becasue I'm sure the TRUE Peruvian sauce is no where near as legit. French Pantry, your playing-hard-to-get, pretentious business hours and long lines never cna deter me from pursuing after your bruschetta. Bold Bean/Lillie's, your adorbs java atmosphere brings warmth to my mug and my heart and I thank you. Edgewood/Cinotti's/Dreamette, what can I say? Your sugary delights have brought happiness and diabetes to many. But mostly happiness. Moon River/Carmine's, no one can fulfill my carb desire like you can. Pizza and trivia nights, what more could you want? I could go on…too many to list!!
Riverside/Avondale
Kind of riding on the coattails of the previous goodbye I had to give a shout out to my favorite Jax area. Riverside, 5 Points, Avondale, Edgewood and etc, I've gotten some lovely quality time with you all and have made my home Southside a bit jealous. But it's all been worth it!
Blow Dryer
We have a bit of a love-hate relationship, but after 15 min or so I warm up to ya (PUN INTENDED! geez, that was awful). My air drying locks will thank me for your absence this year, but I know there will be times I long for you.
Grey's Anatomy
I have a new Meredith in my life for the next 11 months (see teammate to the left), and she's not nearly as whiny as you are, Grey. However, I've invested so much emotion and love into each and every one of you silly docs. I could run Seattle Grace for sure. You really got a hold on me. We've been through a crazy gunman, a plane crash, boards, deaths out the wazoo…I hate to miss out on your new drama. But our friend Netflix will reunite us one day.
Super Bowl XLVII
I firmly believe the Monday after Super Bowl should be celebrated as a national holiday. I LOVE SUPER BOWL. The food, the commercials, the food, the game excitement, the food, halftime…it's wonderful! You know what I love even more? When my Packers are playing, which you know, they do quite often. Go Pack, GO!
Gretchen & Liesl
This one is a little more emotional for me. I didn't have a picture of the both of them together, but my mini daschunds make my heart smile. Gretchen, your cat-like demeanor makes me strive for your attention even more and brings me absolute joy when I win it. Liesl, some say you have low selft-esteem, but you just crave love from anyone with a heartbeat and you'll give them that same love X1000. I'll miss cuddles on the couch with these two loves of mine immensely.
Well, I hope I brought a slight smile to your face. It's 1:49am on January 7th and today is my official launch date!! We'll be heading up to Washington DC at 4am and so begins my "Hobbit Adventure" as I like to call it. This past week or so has been full of joy, laughter, tears and love. I couldn't have ever made it this far if it wasn't for the family and friends for which God has blessed me. I can't believe it's here. I'm only ready because I'm not alone. Let's do this N Squad!
