So here goes!

That's the first thing that comes to mind when I think about my next year and a half.  Holy moly, I've never taken a leap of faith like this before!  Sometimes I worry about how much I worry, but then I remember that it's ok to feel this way.  How else can I rely on God?  Any and all of my fears about my race are so much smaller than my God:)  The week before I found out I was going on the Race, Mom and I went to a Shane & Shane concert at a local church and one song's lyrics really stood out to me.  

  Here I am, calling out "Father,
Can you hear me, can you hear me?
I don't want to go without you.
Here I am can You talk a little louder
So I can hear You, I want to hear You.
I don't want to move without You."
 
I know I will not be going without my Father, but sometimes I pray that He'll talk a little louder when I'm faced with my fears.  How great is our God?  Greater than any fear or obstacle:)  

So in January 2013 I will embark on an 11 month, 11 country backpacking mission trip.  I will be tested, I will see amazing things, I will meet even more amazing people and most excitingly: I will experience and share God's love and mercy!!  How can you not be OVERJOYED to be a part of that?!  Here's my 2013 (talk about a New Year's Resolution!):

So would you join me on this adventure?  No, my backpack is not big enough for you to fit, I need all the space I can get!  I ask for your support over my next year and a half.  Here's a few ways you can be involved:

Prayerfully: So, so, so important!  Please keep me in your prayers as I prepare and after I launch.  This year isn't going to be easy, but I know I'll feel the blanket of prayers during my good and bad days.  Also pray that God will use my team and I in incredible ways!
Financially:  The total cost of my race is $15,500, which can be overwhelming at times.  I'm going to need to humble myself and ask for aid from the people in my life.  I will be responsible for the trip amount as well as purchasing my "gear" for my new life as a backpacker.  If you are able and led, I would be incredibly grateful for any amount you could give.   My first financial goal is $3500 by September 29th, two weeks before my training camp.  If you would like to support me visit the 'Please Support Me' tab to the left side of this page.  There are directions for giving online or by mail.  If you would like to know more about my gear wish list please let me know.
