Launch! Here you have it folks, my very first blog on the World Race! I'm still in Washington DC, so I guess you could get nit-picky and say it doesn't count because I'm not in another country. Whatevs. It's offical. This all has started.
I drove up to DC yesterday with Mom and Dad and quickly went in search of my fellow N Squaders. The Team Leaders, Financial Coordinators (that's me!!) and Logistic Leaders had to arrive a day early than the rest of the squad. We had a quick meeting last night in our seperate roles that ended with a "Here's your credit card under your name, here's your budget, you have 30 min at the grocery store to buy food for your whole team for the rest of the week. Aaaaaand go!" Crazy stressful 30 min in the Safeway that resembled 'Supermarket Sweep' on high drive. "CHELSEA! I'LL GRAB YOUR PB&J IF YOU'LL GET ME LUNCH MEAT!! MEET BACK TOGETHER IN 2.3 SECONDS!" Welcome to the World Race.
Today the remainder of our N Squad arrived with squeals and hugs and prancing and love love love. I love these peeps. They're pretty wonderful. We'll be flying out of Dulles on Friday afternoon, January 11th. After a half-hour layover in Panama (that should be fun) we'll arrive in Quito late Friday night. From there, my team and Team Agapetos will be grouping together and heading to Carapungo, about an hour-ish northeast of Quito in the mountains. We will be working with Iglesia La Luz! There ya go, now you're as informed as I am. I kind of like the "go-with-the-flow" mindset. We'll find out our details when we need to find out our details.
I just wanted to quickly update you all on my next week since I'm not sure when I'll get the opportunity to blog next. Please be in prayer for M, N, O & P Squads as we all scatter across the globe on Friday. Pray for travel safety, patience, God's layover favor (I love unexpected rhymes) and so on. Thank you!
