1. Ministry of the month: Serving alongside the people of Beam Africa. We lived at Beam House, a home that they have set up for groups to come and stay at. We helped with odd jobs around the property including sorting clothes and weeding. We spent most of our time at the center in Nellmapius.  There we helped out any way we could from cooking to typing reports. Once school was out and the children came we spent as much time as we could playing with and loving on them.
  2. Favorite Memory: Our up close and personal experience with an elephant on the safari.
  3. Biggest Challenge: Mourning the loss of Laines mom and functioning as a team of six rather than and team of seven.
  4. Worst Food: Once again, we were crazy blessed with food. Imelda or I or both of us cooked most of our meals at Beam House. I'm still not a fan of pop though.
  5. Random WR Moment: Our contacts, Erika and Louis, have a friend named Uncle Henni who came to stay at BEAM house a few weeks after we arrived. We were told he was an interesting fellow who loved to talk and we experienced that in full force. We would often come home to two 2 liters of coke, chocolate, apples, milk, or banana bread on our table. He also had intense conversations with all of us and could really see ways that God is going to use us in our lives.
  6. Funniest Moment: On our last day of ministry we visited the township of Maubone where BEAM Africa is going to open a center. We delivered supplied and then visited the site where they will build. Before leaving I felt like we needed to pray for the future of the land. So we all got in a circle and prayed. After a little while Jamie looked up and said Jillian, look behind you. There was a donkey that had run up right behind us. It then made itself known and ran off. It was pretty great.
  7. What I’ll miss: The children at Beam Africa Nellmapius. Especially two little girls, Happiness and Musiline. They are best friends and are some of the cutest kids you'll ever see. They would run up to me, jump in my arms, and freely give hugs and kisses everyday.
  8. Spiritual Lesson/Revelation: I do too much inhaling. I inhale and inhale and if I don't let go and exhale I will go crazy. Giving everything to God and finally exhaling is so freeing.
  9. Prayer Requests: The future of Beam Africa. God is working in huge ways and I know He has more in store. They are currently praying for more land in Nellmapius, finances, and for a church, house, and new center to be built in the town of Maubone.
