So imagine you’re walking on the sidewalk/road. No, actually stop and think and imagine this entire thing happening. You’re tired, stressed out, and ready to go to sleep so you can be done with the day. You hear a car coming up behind you so you move over to be completely out of the way. To your utter surprise, Jesus is in the passenger seat of the car. When he drives by he…?

What does he do?

Using what you know about Jesus and his character, which do you think Jesus would do if he drove by you?

1) He would gaze out the windshield passively and act like you’re not there

2) He would be overcome with excitement to see you and smile the biggest, most radiant smile imaginable while waving like there’s no tomorrow

I don’t know for sure what you’re thinking, but from what I know about Jesus, he would most definitely do the second option. He would be thrilled to see me walking by, he would want nothing more than to make me smile, and he would excitedly make sure he got my attention so I know He’s in the area.

2 Corinthians 5:20a Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal to the world through us.

Long story short: If we are God’s appeal to the world as Christians, should we passively pass through the lives of strangers and not care to glance in their direction OR should we make an effort to notice people because we can confidently say the Lord has noticed us?

Jesus talks to me. Jesus sees me. Jesus notices me. Jesus cares about me. Jesus smiles at me. Jesus waves at me.

So if Jesus is bringing me to the Father in this way, why am I not bringing others to the Father in this same way?

The grocery store, church, the sidewalk, the parking lot, etc. These are all places that we go and The Lord notices us there. We should try to make more of an effort to appeal to the world like Jesus appeals to us.

We should look at the people around us like they are the valuable children of God that they really are.

You could be thinking, is a smile or a wave really going to mean something to someone? I ask this simple question: Is the power of Jesus not grand enough to appeal to someone through a smile?

I ask you to join me. Ill do this in Africa, and you do this wherever you are. Let’s be Jesus to this world in the simplest of ways, lets smile and wave.
