Recently I was doing a bible study on John chapter 10. The beginning talks about how we are the sheep and Jesus is the good Shepherd. While I was praying over the scripture Jesus started giving me a picture in my head. It was so beautiful and I am excited to share in the hopes it will help someone else understand the affection The King has for them. So in this image I was a sheep. By no means was I the best sheep and matter of fact, I was pretty small and puny compared to the other sheep in the field. But Jesus was my good Shepherd. I was standing at His feet and would follow Him around. I would walk where he walked and trust He was leading me in the right direction. Now this was the best part of this image, Jesus was filled with joy to have me close. He was so proud that I was his sheep. He was looking around at everyone with a huge smile trying to get their attention just making sure they all knew I was His. People were a little angry at me and were wondering why He would pick such a small, inadequate sheep to follow Him around. Jesus was protective over me. He was saying “No, how dare you, i love this sheep. This is my sheep and I am her Shepherd. She is a precious sheep.” The best word to describe Jesus here is proud. He was so proud to be seen with me.

The fact that this is the reality of how our Father and good Shepherd sees us satisfies the desire in my very inner being to be loved. I don’t have to look anywhere else for love or affection, because I am important and immeasurably loved by Jesus. Trusting that this is the kind of love that belongs to me changes the way I live my life. I trust in this all consuming love to carry me in My Father’s gentle hands and take care of my every need. I encourage everyone who reads this blog to read John chapter 10 and ask Jesus to show you how much He loves His sheep.

prayer request: on the 8th of December my team and I leave for the coast again. We are handing out food, clothes, feminine pruducts, etc. But please just pray that the people receiving would have a hunger for Jesus and that they would understand those supplies are from Him and not from us.
