Hey there! Today, I want to share something that’s been stirring in my heart lately. While God was giving this to me the other day, I imagined Jesus and I walking on a path together(yes, I know… cliche). I encourage you to see it for yourself- not me and Jesus, but you and Jesus. Have you ever had that moment when some simple concept just hit you all of a sudden? This was one of those times, for me.

To start off, imagine yourself walking down a path. It can look however you want it to. You and Jesus are holding hands.

For me, I have recently had the realization that my eyes have been on my feet for a while. You know- trying to make sure I don’t trip and look like a fool. It’s also that thoughtful walk- looking at the ground to think. Trying to choose my own strength and block out the world. And my path looks different in different seasons of my life.

This is what He spoke to me…

Take your eyes off your issues and imperfections and fix them on Jesus. If you keep your eyes on your own feet the whole time you’re walking with Jesus, you are going to miss all the beautiful things around you that He’s wanting you to see. You may be holding His hand, but are you actually trusting that He is going to take care of you?

His hand is there to guide you. You may trip sometimes, but He is there to pick you up and brush you off and give you the sweetest kiss on the head.

When you have your eyes fixed on your feet, you can’t clearly see where you are on your path. Fully appreciate all around you- where you are, where you’ve been, where you’re going. Don’t just assume and be happy with where you think you are. And don’t be discouraged if you may be farther back than you thought you were. There is so much beauty in every part of the walk. Even if it is dark or a little rocky, you are still holding His hand.

Everything around you passes (or in this instance, you and Jesus pass everything), but He is a constant. I mean it is a walk with Him. He sacrificed everything for this sweet time with you. He won’t get preoccupied and want to be with someone else or go pick flowers instead of be with you. He wants to do everything with you. His goal is a relationship with you and for sweet time together. He’s a quality time kind of guy. When taking in all of the beautiful things, thank Him (laughter, children, flowers of all colors and sizes, sweet friendships- you get the idea). And in the moments of seeing the hard things, hold His hand even tighter and ask Him the tough questions (someone going through pain in any form- physical, emotional, spiritual).

I mean the very best date even has a stopping point, but this one never has to. Isn’t it beautiful? He has more and more and more for you. I love what the book Captivating by John and Stasi Eldridge says about our life with Jesus being all about beauty, intimacy, and adventure. It really is!

You get to choose to get up each morning and love Him. He’s already chosen us and loved us. He was waiting patiently, interceding for you where you didn’t even have words. He sat in the garden as you napped under the tree. He looks at you lovingly and promises you things only He can promise. He listens. He responds. But the thing is, His response doesn’t always come when we expect it. Sometimes you just aren’t ready for it. Maybe sometimes you just aren’t listening.

He is so faithful, still. You run to all the distractions to the left and to the right of you and He follows you. Holding your hand. But not pulling you back. It’s your decision after all. But He is madly in love with you and still looks at you- ready for you to make your way back to Him- holding to Him tightly. And choosing to trust Him.

You are cherished. Chosen. Seen. Beloved.

Are you going to choose him and see him as your Beloved?

Side note: If you want to hear stories of how the Lord has come through when I trusted Him, I would be happy to share with you. He is so so so good.
