Hey guys! I know it’s been a while, life gets crazy! I had a super great Christmas, and quietly rang in the New Year with my mom last night while the kids I was babysitting slept peacefully downstairs! Living the dream (but really I am!) But 2017, what a year! It was one of those years that you can’t help but look back and appreciate the way God weaves together all the terrible moments and all the best ones to create such a rich life. He is too good to me. I’ve learned so. much. this year. About myself and who I want to be and what I believe. There were a lot of moments in 2017 that left me pretty speechless. People leaving, hard decisions, and a whole lot of tough/unexpected pills to swallow, but many times speechless at how good God really is to me. I don’t deserve the people He puts in my life to love me, but they still stick around and give me endless hugs any way. Life is really nuts and really hard and really good, but I really do love it.
Lots of people talk about having a word and verse for the year, and after a lot of consideration, here it is (it’s really more of a phrase but): hope filled action. I want it to be a year where I make choices and take risks based on the hope that the Lord has for me in following His will. I don’t want to do things that don’t matter, and I want my actions to be a reflection of the hope that I have.
For a Bible verse, I’m choosing one that has recently become one of my most favorites. I first heard it in a song by a group called Shane & Shane named Psalm 91. obviously titled after Psalm 91. It’s just such a beautiful song and you need to go listen to it after reading this. Do yourself that favor . Anyways, the whole chapter is too long to put here, but my favorite verses are 1&2 and 4&5, which say,
(1)He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
(2)I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
(4)He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
(5)You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
Anyways, thank you all for your support this year, and I can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for 2018! As of right now, I’m selling bracelets and other cute things (so shoot me a message if you want one!) and I’ll be selling the long-awaited t-shirts very soon! Plan to deck your whole family out in these things, I know I love them (but I’m a little biased)! I’d love to know what some of your words and/or verses for the year are! Merriest (late) Christmas and Happiest New Year to you and all the ones you love!
Love,
Abby E.
