After one of my previous blogs from Peru, I have gotten so many encouraging comments from people and from teammates and this week one of our Squad Leaders, Tiffany, did a session with our whole squad where we had to stand up on a chair and speak truth about ourselves that we may not necessarily believe. You can probably guess that I tried to make mine as short as possible because I hate being the center of attention, especially standing on a chair and shouting in front of 60 people. But after we finished I made a list of things that I am that I have to remind myself of everyday because I usually don't believe it.
I AM:
Adaquate
Worth listening to
Beautiful
Worthy
Strong
Fearfully and wonderfully made
Capable
Desired by God
Relationship Material
Joyful
Full of opinions
Lovely
Blessed
In possession of a story worth telling
A Beloved daughter of God
Bold
Loveable
Hilarious
Where I’m supposed to be
Made for this
Able to make a difference
My own person
Not a doormant
Not second best
Not a background girl
Spoken through
Loved
Not alone
Able to be vulnerable
Full of wisdom
In possession of words
Intelligent
Enough
Provided for
Talented
Not too young
A role model
Not my Shortcomings
Passionate
Capable of giving love
A leader
Worth following
Not a people pleaser
These are all things I have to constantly remind myself that I am. I can’t let the voice in my head telling me that I’m not good enough win, I’m more than good enough and everything has a purpose including me. I’m working on it and it will definitely be a process to get to the point of not having to repeat these things to myself every day, but it will be worth it.
