Something I’ve been discovering since I’ve been on the Race is that I have forgotten how much I absolutely love music even though it’s something that I’ve been very passionate about in my life. I started taking piano lessons when I was six years old and started playing trombone when I was in elementary school and then tuba in high school as well as taking voice lessons and being in choirs. I’ve never been the most talented musician, but I love it. I wouldn’t have put so much effort and time into it if it wasn’t something that I enjoyed doing and somewhere along the way, I’ve forgotten what a big part of my life it is. Not only is it something that I love doing, but it’s more of an experience. I love seeing other people do something that they truly love just because it makes them happy because it makes me happy. The feeling that overcomes me when I hear a truly talented musician doing what they love is indescribable.
I’ve noticed that music is really a way for me to experience God as well and I’ve been missing it. Singing worship music is one of my favorite parts about going to church and I love getting to express myself in words in a way that is so incredibly beautiful. This month I haven’t gotten to experience much of that in a group setting and it’s been missed. Music is such a beautiful thing and God has given so many of us a passion and a love for it and I’m so excited to continue learning and seeing how God works through it. God doesn't tell us that we have to be the best to enjoy something, sometimes just appreciating it is more than enough. So pumped to go into debrief and get to worship with my fellow #N Squad members!
