Right now I am sitting in the airport with my entire squad waiting for our first international flight.  I can’t believe it is finally here!  Even when I wrote my last blog a couple of days ago, it still didn’t feel real, and even now, I don’t think it has quite set in yet that the next eleven months of my life will be filled with adventure, community, growth, and change.  So many new things have been hitting me and I’m just so overwhelmingly excited.  Oddly enough, I’m not feeling nervous at all, which I’m so relieved about.  Usually when I do really big new things, I get so nervous that I make myself sick and I am so relieved that that’s not the case this time.  I just have this peace about this whole thing that is making everything so much easier.

I am so incredibly excited about working with the team that I have been placed on as well.  When we first got told who was on our team, I think most of us were a little nervous because we had never worked together during training camp, but it was definitely meant to be.  I think that as a group, we complement each other so well and we will all grow and learn from one another.  I think the most interesting thing about our team is that five of us are introverts and only two of us are extroverts, which makes for a very unique group dynamic.  Introverts are usually in the minority so it will definitely be different, for me especially, but I’m really excited about it.

This probably sounds a little redundant from my last blog, but one thing I wanted to share with you all is that people keep telling us that N Squad is different.  We are all so ready to go and learn and do and it is going to make for an incredible year.  Something that has really stuck with me since I heard it was that our head trainer, Daniel, said that we need to receive things like a Wide Receiver on a football team.  We need to be aggressive about it and be open to what others have to offer us.  We can’t just hang back and wait for things, we need to go get the things that are offered and take advantage of them.  Wide Receiver on a football team.  We need to be aggressive about it and be open to what others have to offer us.  We can’t just hang back and wait for things, we need to go get the things that are offered and take advantage of them.
