I never thought I would be sitting on a bus with five of my
teammates on the same road that I traveled a year and half ago. The roads are just as I remember them. Remembering that I didn’t believing my
current team members saying, “Make sure you sit in the front, it is going to be
a little bumpy.” I tried to warn my
teammates but those words just don’t do justice.
After a ten hour bus ride we finally made it to a little
town called Kitale, Kenya. It is about 30 minutes from the Uganda border.
We have been here a week and I am still humbled by the
amazing servants that live in this country. My team and I are staying at an orphanage not far from town and being
hosted by 34 little hands and feet.
We spend everyday differently, just as I remembered. We usually start the day off with a bucket
bath. (My favorite, remember KNEL haha)
And then have our wonderful blue band sandwiches and Chi.
Whenever the time is right or you know we really don’t go by
time in Kenya
we take our walk to the nearest drivable road. We head out to our pastor’s villages and starting encouraging families
and sharing the love of Christ.
After a long day of seeking the Lord for words we are greeted
by the wonderful 34 hands and feet with live with this month. We then sing songs, play games, laugh and do all
this with a language barrier. But I have
realized you don’t have to speak the same language to share the Lord’s love to children.
We have also been given the chance to go to the slums of Kitale.
It definitely was still a different experience
from my visit in the Kibera slums. I hope
to share more of this soon.
We still have two more weeks in this wonderful country, with
some wonderful pastors and I cannot wait to share with you the stories.
Until next time…I hope everyone one has a wonderful Christmas!
