Sharing his light = priceless
“What is this force around me? It’s always pulling me down. Every chance I get to spill my guts about you. It tries to tape up my mouth. I am tired of being camouflaged.”
This
is my attempt to capture my last three weeks while I have been in Hong Kong and
Mainland China. We started out in
Hong Kong working with an organization called Crossroads. Crossroads is a global distribution
center that unites global resources and gives to those in need around the
world. This week the Lord
really allowed me to see who side I needed to be leaning on and the hearts of
those people at Crossroads were the key.
We
then headed to Mainland China.
Where we were apart of a cultural exchange program at a university. We went from learning their language,
how to write Calligraphy, to make their famous jowdza (dumplings). Being apart of this program allowed us
to meet and develop relationships with students on campus. China being a really worn-torn country
it was really a heavy place to be and I wish I could share more details but
just know the Lord is in the midst of China.
Most of my time I felt very camouflaged. Like I was being forced to not stand out. Spiritually not physically. But it was kind of ironic that our prayers were totally opposite. That we wanted to be a light in that university and in that city. There is so much we had to change in the way we presented the Lord. In the way we worship, saying Father’s name out loud. It put a whole new twist on life. It made it interesting, challenging, burdened and just yearning to reach more so we could share the truth.
Again there is so much I wish I could share in greater detail but know that there many seeds planted in this growing country.
We
arrived back in Hong Kong on Thanksgiving after a 26 hour train ride, to eat a
wonderful pizza thanksgiving dinner.
My squad heads out tonight for Kenya for debrief. So please keep us in your prayers. I will hopefully have another chance to
write soon.
