It’s month 3 of my 11 month mission trip. So far I’ve been to Serbia, Romania and now Bulgaria. Just to recap, I am on the World Race. My squad of 41 people is called I squad. We left the States in August. The team I was put on is called AO1. Which stands for Audience of 1 (meaning the only one we’re “performing” for is God). We have served other missionaries, together the past tree months.
In Serbia our mission was to get to know the people of the town and invite them to the events that the church put on. In addition to this we also lead church serves every Sunday we were in Serbia. The pastors wife in Serbia tremendously blessed me. She also poured into my team. She was kind and loving to complete strangers. There was another women working in the church that also took care of us. Both these women of God showed me so much. From month one, I took away how to love strangers as if they were my own family, how to be warm and inviting (even when you don’t feel like it), and how to listen for God.
In Romania the whole I squad was together. In one house. With 3 toilets. It was very surprisingly amazing. The squad was split up by teams and then assigned a missionary in the area to help. My team was then split up again and three of us ended up working for one missionary and the other three for another. Our mission in Romania was to help this missionary. I helped clean the church, cooked with the grandmother of the family, and got to teach their children and kids of the neighborhood English. I was extremely blessed by the wife of the pastor and the grandmother who lived with them. They too showed me kindness like I’ve never seen before. They all showed me compassion when I was having a rough time. From this month I will take away how to show others understanding and compassion.
In Bulgaria, AO1’s mission is to help take care of this 60+ room house, which holds conferences, camps, and more. Serving is the word for the month. We are cleaning and cooking. There’s a couple that live here full time and they have been incredible to us and the camp cook, who super sweet. I’m not sure yet on what I’ll take away from this place. I’ve learned that God has something for me in every place we go. There isn’t a season, a place or a time when God doesn’t have a blessing and/or a lesson for his children. He is always faithful. I’ll keep you posted on what the bless/lesson is this month.
Please pray for me and others on my team who are still fundraising. My next deadline of $16,561 is due the 30th of November. Please consider partnering with me and the work I am doing by donating. You can help others around the world by donating to this mission.
