Someone suggested to me that I write about what the World Race is. The World Race is an opportunity to better the world around me. Before I talk about all the mushy, gushy stuff and why I’m choosing to leave my home for a year, lets talk about some facts.

The World Race is an organization branched off Adventures in Missions. Adventures in Missions was established in 1989; they have taken over 100,000 people into the mission field, some for as short as a week and others for as long as a year or more. They believe that by giving people the opportunity to hold orphans, bring hope to the hopeless, and pray for the sick, lives are transformed.

The World Race sends teams of adults to different countries around the world to help the ministries already established in that region. I will be going to 11 different countries, starting this August, spending about a month in each country.

Mushy and Gushy. I have a gypsy soul as my Grandpa Lambert calls it. I have an explainable need to see the world and everything in it. Along with that need to see the world I live in, God has given me a passion for helping others. My heartstrings pull me to people that need my help. The World Race is the perfect combination of my two passions, travelling and help others. This is one of the reasons I’m choosing to go.
