I’ve been in Guatemala for almost two weeks!

It is weird to think that this is my life. I get the opportunity to teach six English classes ranging from 3rd-6th grade. When I first heard we were teaching English classes I was honestly disappointed, but this week my disappoint has turned into excitement. I consider teaching a weakness of mine. When I was listening to a podcast of Pastor Ben Courson he started talking about Philippians 4:13 and how God doesn’t compensate for our weaknesses, rather He transforms our weaknesses into His strength. This week, I have honestly seen that.

At training camp they told us story along the lines of how there is always something to be thankful for even if there is chaos around us. The things we are thankful for or made our days are called strawberries. Let me tell you one of my strawberries.

On the first day of teaching, I decided that during recess I would play soccer with the boys. At first it was a little awkward because of the language barrier, but we quickly got over that. I learned it doesn’t take much communicating to score a goal. Relationships are being built through a sport I’m awful at! My strawberry is seeing their faces light up when I walk into class and how attentive they have become. Then getting to play soccer with them is just plain fun!

This was a quick last minute post, so my thoughts are a little jumbled. I haven’t taken many pictures or videos, because I want to take picture of kids I actually know! Please keep my team in your prayers!
