Hello everyone!

My name is Abbey Wyatt, I’m 18 years old, and I’m from Knoxville, TN–born and raised! I am so excited to be going on the World Race Gap Year this September! My route will be traveling to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Ethiopia, Nepal, and the Philippines. I have been out of the country 7 times, but never to any of these places, so I am very excited about what God has in store. I have always been passionate about missions and passionate about traveling. I think it’s so important to serve the “least of these” and to walk and talk with people who are not the same as you. It’s important to see the world for what it really is and not what our comfortable, luxurious lives show us.

I enjoy people and hearing their stories. I love to laugh and have fun. Personal baked goods and handwritten letters are my love languages. I’m always down for a coffee date or a breakfast date. I think it’s important to live intentionally and spontaneously. Far too often we get wrapped up in ourselves and what we have to do in order to be successful in our eyes and what we have to do to accomplish all of these goals. We lose sight of what is really important which is loving God and loving His people and serving them, not serving ourselves. I am so excited to have the opportunity to escape the routine of everyday life for a little bit and live out the Great Commission to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”

Boy, I can’t wait! Life is cool when you lay yourself down and pick up your cross. When you live for Christ and who He calls you to be and where He calls you to go, your life for sure gets changed. I would have never thought this would be my next step in life, but I am so thankful for where I am now. Praise be.

Joyfully in Christ,

Abbey
