I applied to the world race only a few weeks before the deadline for trip registration, which means that the amount of time I have to do support raising is less then I would like.  But when I was praying about it I felt like the Lord was saying that He allowed this on purpose so that I would learn to trust Him more then I trust myself to accomplish His will (one of those lessons you enjoy a lot more in hindsight then while you are in the middle of learning it).  I so appreciate it when the Lord reassures me when I am feeling afraid and that He doesn’t just expect me to get over my fears on my own.

This past Thursday was one of those days.  It started with a support meeting Thursday morning.  In the process of this appointment I was expressing some of the stuff that I was trying to figure out about what I need to do in preparation for this trip, like whether or not I should buy a laptop.  When I mentioned the laptop he looked at me and said, “well, I can help you with that”.  God graciously surprised me by giving me a laptop that I didn’t even think to ask for.

Also, that same day in the evening, a friend called me whom I haven’t seen in over a year.  He said that the Lord had laid it on his heart to tell me to relax and trust in Him. He had no idea what was going on in my life and was afraid that what he shared might not mean anything to me, but he chose to be faithful anyway.  God is so good!

The scripture that the Lord has been bringing up over and over in this season is Proverbs 3:5&6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;in all your ways acknowledge him,and he will make your paths straight”.  I am so grateful for the promise of the Lord to make our paths straight when we put our trust in Him!

Please pray that God continues to give me wisdom and balance with my time, and that I have His peace that passes all understanding.
