So I’m sitting in church listening to one of my favorite speakers/teachers/preachers of all time Dr. Mark Scott speak on the Psalms when all of a sudden something completely off topic of his sermon pops in my mind.

The Psalms are songs of praise and worship. Mostly consisting of David, Asaph, and Solomon crying out in worship to God. So why in the world did the Body of Christ pop in my head. It has nothing to do with the Psalms but it felt like something I needed to look into, so i grabed my phone, gave myself a note and put in a little reminder to look into it.

While looking into it I was also thinking, “what in the world am I going to talk about inbetween training and my launch date July 1st for my blog.” I was reading on the Body when I finally heard what God was trying to tell me. The blog this week isn’t about me but about those I will be serving with.

“All of you together are Christ’s body, and each one of you is a separate and necessary part of it.” (1 Corinthians 12:27 NLT)

We are different in many ways but have the same heart and desire in mind. So how about I introduce you to the team I will be serving with for the next year.

First off our fearless leader Miss Shonda.

The first time I saw her, she gave me abig hug and she reminded me of a close friend home in Lonoke. She reminded me so much of my friend Velma just by her humer and how we talk to eachother jokingly. The way that we act together is almost exactly the same. She is like a big sister and has the biggest servants heart. God new exactly what He was doing when he put her in charge of our team. She will lead with wisdom and great knowledge.

Next is Nicole, but she goes by Nikki

She is from Dallas and is the one in our group that will push us out of our comfort zone. She is going the help out team do things that we never thought possible, whether that be walking up to a person on the street and praying with them or giving the last of our funds to help a hungry family. Nikki is intense in the way that she loves and also an incredible hoola hooper. I mean impressive. I am so thankful she is on our team. She will definately make a difference.

Elizabeth, the numbers lady

She’s smart, and smarter than me (it’s not that hard lol). She is our money person first off and her dad is an Accountant. PRAISE GOD FOR SMART MONEY PEOPLE!!!!! She has energy to keep us going and love that is unimaginable. A girl from Iowa that will show what she can do in this giant world. Liz want’s to share Christ to the world. She wants them to know how important they are and will push her team to get there. She balances out the team so well.

Briana, the whole hearted one

Bri as I like to call her isn’t scared to talk to anyone about Jesus, she’s the biggest encourager I have ever met and will do anything for anyone. She will be the one who will push us when we are tired and remind us what we are called to do when we feel drained. Bri just has a special heart for everyone she meets and will love them as fast as she meets them. A North Carolina College student who desires to grow and learn with every step she makes. She is a special weapon that God gave us for this year and we will use her to love the people.

“Be a man” Mulan reference anyone……. Now the Guys

The tree eater and manly man Justin

Justin is a dairy farmer from good ole Wisconsin. When I think of man, I think of Justin. He can build basically anything. Take down tree limbs in seconds and throw around fire balls (it’s a good story). Justin also has a huge heart and as one of the guys has become a great brother. He will push me so hard in the world and will make me a better man of God. I’m thankful God blessed me with him on my team. He just will do so much for us and for the kingdom.

Somebody call 911 Fire got me burning, Eric

So….. Eric is Canadian, that’s pretty neat. Eric was quiet when I first met him, but as I got to know him I realized he is just analyzing and learning about us. He is so smart and wise. He offers so much to the team in wisdom. Plus that awesome beard of his. He also can start a fire in the rain which is pretty impressive. He got a fire going for our whole squad when we had to sleep outside one night in the cold rain. He does so much to give life to our team.  He and Justin are key to my growth with Christ and as a man.

I am blessed with the men and women God put on my team. We balance each other out and have our different gifts and abilities. God knew what he was doing. We are the body of Christ and we will make a difference in the world through love, patience, and humility. Just as the Psalms are written to praise and worship.  I sing praise and worship for this team. I’ve only known my team for 10 days of training, but I love them already.

P.S. I am thankful for those who have given in the past week, I went from 7,500 to 9,500 and I can not thank you enough. I love you all. My next deadline is September 1st and I will have to be at 12,500. Blessings
