A Councilor from Tennessee. A Youth Minister from Arkansas. Three recent college grads from North Carolina, Ontario, and Iowa. A Dairy Farmer from Wisconsin, and a woman in the Work Force from Texas. What do each of them have in common?
You have seven people from seven different places with seven different backgrounds. Each person has their own personal testimony, but have the same goal in mind. That goal, sacrificing everything to love the millions, Taking the call to leave the 99 to seek the 1.
Luke 10:2-5
2 He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. 3 Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. 4 Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road. 5 “When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.
We have a 65 liter backpack and another small bag, and that’s what we are taking around the world. How crazy is that? We are leaving all of our worldly possessions behind and taking a few pairs of cloths and a water bottle. It sounds difficult but to be honest its not.
This past week, the seven of us were trained in different conditions. From hot sunny days, to cold rainy nights. From having to share a small tent, to sleeping outside with bugs in a hammock. We had to share cloths and truly learn how to depend on each other and God. It seemed difficult at first but after a few days, sleeping under a tarp and hiking 19 miles through the mountains to prove you can do anything didn’t seem so hard. We ate food off of leaves, broke sticks to use as eating utensils, and even wore wet mildewed cloths. We were being prepared with the little we had to serve the many that needed to be show the Love of Jesus.
The earthly possessions don’t seem to matter as much anymore, because we have a much higher calling for the kingdom.
That’s probably why we decided to name our group Agape Ethne, meaning in Greek, Love for the Nations. We are ready to love the nations and share the fantastic news of Jesus Christ. Praying for them and watching God in action, performing his miracles and we go along.
Seven People, Seven Hearts, from Seven different places. One goal in mind, loving others to expand the Kingdom.
I thought that hiking 19 miles in 2 days was impossible for me, but God takes the impossible and makes it possible. I had swollen feet, giant blisters, and sore muscles, but God pushed me through. Through that I look at my funding and see the giant mountain in front of me. I see the $16,000 I have to raise and think, “man that’s impossible.” God makes it possible and I have faith he will provide. I just hit my June 19 Goal of $7,500, but I need to be $12,000 by September 1. Just watch God do the impossible as He provides.
Pray for Agape Ethne as we leave for India on July 1st. Blessings to you all. Pray for (from left to right) Nicole, Briana, Elizabeth, Shonda, Eric, Aaron (Me), and Justin.
