There isn’t much to add to the title. I was in the restroom, which requires me to leave the main guesthouse and to walk outside, when I heard a loud bang. And then another. And another followed by men screaming at the top of their lungs. More bangs. More screaming. Angry screaming. Frightened screaming. It took me about one full minute to realize that a massive gunfight was breaking out maybe a football field away from me…

It is now 4:00 am. The rest of my team is sleeping and I pray they continue peacefully through the night, but I have to write about this. The gunshots and screaming continued nonstop for the past twenty minutes, and now there is dead silence. No police sirens came to the rescue and there were no 911 emergency calls made…

I don’t really know what else to write. This was my first time. I prayed a lot. Tomorrow we go white water rafting on the Nile.
