When thinking about how or what I should write in this blog, I entered into complete awe of the Lord.  In my life, I have been around several warriors in the faith that I admire, but in complete honesty and sincerity, there is none that I esteem higher than this woman of God.  When I think about all of the actions and interactions I’ve had throughout my life with her, I realize just how much of the presence of the Holy Spirit is on her and in her.  She is covered in it.  With her words, comes life.  And man, talk about having a word of knowledge, there are no secrets that I could keep from this woman.  Her spirit is the Holy Spirit.  She is highly prophetic but remains clothed in humility.  She operates in an environment of high courage and high grace.  She calls me to greatness.  She encourages me and she elevates me to greatness through her exhortation and her intercessions.  She is a woman of God.  She is my mother.  Marie “Christ” Bruner.

She has taken on his name because he has become her identity.  She and the Holy Spirit are pretty tight.  Recently, my mom has hit a rather large milestone in her life (sorry mom, have to do it) by turning 50 years old.  Yet, I feel like her life is just beginning in some ways.  Mom, I want to speak to you directly through this blog, so here goes….

You are a woman of God.  You are standing on the precipice of greater and greater things.  Your words bring life and freedom to those around you.  You are highly prophetic and you walk in incredible wisdom and discernment.  You, woman of God, are esteemed among your people.  You are a spokesperson for your tribe.  You have magnified the Lord and made him great among your family.  You are humility.  You honor your husband and the Lord’s favor rests upon you.  You will bring Kingdom with the truth and spirit that you bring into an environment.  The word that I received this month I believe is for you:

For he says: “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.”  I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.

~II Corinthians 6:2

You are empowered.  God has given you the keys.  He calls you beautiful.  You are the apple of his eye.  Through you, a generation of wild and reckless children will become radical men and women who will bring light into the dark places.  You will be the agent of change in their lives.  I hear the words “freely give”.  He has given you so much wisdom, freely give it to others.  Now is the day of salvation, now is the time of God’s favor in your life.  May these words be life-giving to you Marie “Christ” Bruner for you are destined for great things.  You are remarkable.  Amen.

And now, to share one of my favorite past times about my mother and I.  I used to hate doing chores (not sure that’s really changed much).  So my mom and I had a way of dealing with it.  And before I say this, realize that my mom is a large reason why I have such a competitive edge, blessing and a curse I’d say.  Anyway, she would challenge me to card games like Speed or Two-Handed Spades.  The loser of the game would have to do the chore in question.  Let’s just say, I got very good at card games 😉

Mom, I absolutely adore you.  You are precious to me and I have learned so much from you.  May you be blessed this year in ways that you can’t even imagine.  I love you and miss you!
