You aren't living…

My team here in Chicago has had some great times together as a team the past couple of weekends, as well as the last two weeks. You can read about our Wagon Wheel anthem and about a week of surprises

Anyways, last Friday my team and I went to see the new Batman movie, as in 'The Dark Knight Rises', and it was PHENOMENAL!!! The director really knows how to develop a story and portray everything he wishes to portray in a captivating, exciting way.

As God is apt to do, He spoke to me through one of the lines in the movie (I think there were a few others, but this is the only one I could write down in the mostly dark movie theater).

When Alfred is talking to Bruce Wayne somewhere near the beginning, he tells Bruce, "You aren't living, you're waiting (for the next pain)…"

Something struck a chord in my spirit with this line and I've been praying about it ever since. I've gotten a little revelation about the line.

You see, some Christians or believers go through periods of truly living when they are completely sold out to Christ and His Kingdom, then will go stagnant or to the 'bench' to wait for the next play designed for them. They go from one ministry to the next trying to sustain the euphoria of serving and serving well, yet at some point along the way they truly do go stagnant or stale and the joy they once had from serving washes away.

I've seen this in my journeys around the world with contacts being wiped and discouraged from the countless years they have put into serving God's Kingdom. Some of them serving from a place of victory and just need to get some rest, while others serving from a place of obligation and after the initial period of their time in that place, they just buckle down and go head long in desperate desire to finish out their time…secretly wishing to get away from it all!

For me, I'm not sure I've been living lately. I'm not sure if I've just been waiting and waiting for the next big ministry opportunity or the next thing I can do for His Kingdom without realizing that by doing so I have begun to tire out from the pressure to find out time lines with Ireland, Europe or wherever God is leading me next (I am honestly not sure at the moment).

I want to share where I'm at because well it's necessary to begin with and I could use your prayers for sure, especially with decisions on where I'm heading next.

I desire to be FULLY alive and present at all times throughout the day, whether here in Chicago or somewhere totally different! I want to be FULLY PRESENT to ALL God has for me and for ALL God and I can do together on our journey through this life!!

Are you fully alive?? Or are you just waiting for the next big thing, the next pain, or even just the next big ministry opportunity??

Maybe it's time to step out in faith and do something different or 'against the grain' in your journey with God and life by accepting the next big thing being the moment you get to talk to the cashier lady or barber. Maybe to not wait for the next pain or expectation of pain, but to trust and love those around you regardless of the outcome. Or maybe the next big ministry opportunity is the simple every day life happenings with your family, friends, co-workers, and random soon-to-be-friends.

In other words, "You aren't waiting (for the next pain), but you are LIVING to your GREATEST ability" and that is more desirable by the Father than anything else you could ever do!! Just be!!
