The Rundown

This past week and a half has been a great, yet challenging time for me here in Iringa Town, Tanzania. Ministry has been great since I was sick; however, with so much going on it's been difficult to keep my strength up after having a diet of bread and butter, while I was sick. God has been continously faithful throughout this time though.

Ministry has been anything from going door-to-door to share the Gospel to street preaching in places around Iringa Town to sharing messages at church services at our pastor's church. All-in-all the amount of walking that has taken place has been tremendous. It has been a good experience though, especially because of God's faithfulness.

Before I was sick and we had split up into groups to go to different villages, we shared the Gospel numerous times. I usually didn't have anyone commit their lives to Jesus and so was discouraged a little about my sharing capabilities (not unlike a lot of the others in the other towns). After being sick and I was able to go out in ministry, God began to show up.

You see the last couple of times we went door-to-door, those who went out to share have seen numerous men and women come to faith in Christ Jesus. It has been phenomenal. For me, just yesterday I began sharing the message with one gentleman and as I finished, a second gentleman rolled up on a bike asking what we were talking about. Our translator shared what I had already shared and both men gave their lives over to Jesus.

I was ecstatic!! Mainly because I began to understand that as we share our faith, it's not really us that does anything…God does everything and this incident showed that to me more profoundly than any other. I was encouraged and strengthened in my ability to share the Gospel and know that I don't have to worry how it is done, just that I am excited about it and share my heart to anyone and everyone God leads me to speak to. A good thing to learn.

Now, as this month draws to a close and we are about to go spend a few days in the capital, Dar Es Salaam, for a few days I am able to stand more firmly in Christ and in the confidence of who I am in Christ that He has been teaching me this year. We move on to our last month soon. Please pray for our squad and my team as we travel and go into the last stretch of the Race. Praise God that He is faithful in ALL things!!

Thank you for your prayers and encouragement! I appreciate it tremendously! Love you all! God Bless!!
