The Cavalry

The Cavalry of the world,
Called forth for duty
To charge into battle with
Wreckless fervor and passion,
For The Cavalry serve a mighty King,
Loyal to the 'T' and brave to boot.

The Cavalry rises to their feet,
Sets about their armor,
Readies the steeds, mounts and waits–
They wait for the bugle to blare,
The horn of righteousness to sound,
And ever ready keep their eyes on Him.

The battles ahead intense and blood-thirsty,
Yet The Cavalry, yes, The Cavalry
Of Christ the King
Have been motioned into action–
Souls weary from death, destruction, lie–
Cry out in hopeless desperation.

Yes, The Cavalry of God,
Stand ready to march!!
Horses prance to the drumbeat;
Armor jangles and their weapons drawn,
For the time of fear has passed
And His warriors rise to full height.

The horns to advance blow
And the banners snap to attention,
As battle after battle must be fought
With eager anticipation,
And The Cavalry aid those in fright
All throughout the war-torn night.

So, The Cavalry rides out
Set to bring about redemption and grace,
Set to save the lost and weary,
To free the captives
And storm the gates of hell!
CHARRRRGEEEEEE!!!!

Though arrows blaze past in fiery haste,
The Cavalry charges into the fray,
Not to back down, not to be afraid!!!!
The Cavalry rides with banners high
And hopes on the cross,
For the Lord of Hosts rides with them!

Jesus Christ, the King,
The Alpha and Omega,
The White Rider at the head of His Rohirrim,
To take the darkness by surprise
With the hearts of those who love Him,
Ready to fight for the world!!
 

   *A poem I wrote after contemplating the options of team names we had on a list and feeling that this is who we are; however, it's not just our team, but for all of those God calls to Himself and to serve the world by bringing His Kingdom, which should be in everyday life!! It's pretty cool how it just appeared in my head though…I love when He gives me words to write!! 😀
