Squad Leaders Rise

I am here in Escazu, Costa Rica with all of S-Squad for a mini-debrief before we head to the Philippines on January 1st. It's still so amazing and so joyful to be able to worship with all of S-Squad! We, Lionheart types were so very excited to see Shannon once more.

Before we went too much further with our time we met together for her to share some amazing, yet tough news with us. You see Shannon Ahola, our team leader, has been raised along with Scotty Barron to be our new squad leaders. She is an amazing woman of God and so deserving to be able to step into this position.

In light of this news, the time that we Lionhearts has felt coming is here…it's time for a new season, for new horizons, for change. I will be completely honest, I have not been happy about the thought of a new team; I have not been ok with it in my heart of hearts at times if at all for the past couple of weeks. I dove into ministry more than ever I think just to not think about it, even with the rest of the team constantly bringing it up.

For all of S-Squad, Tim said it best, we are being given bigger coats to grow into and not just Shannon and Scotty, every single one of us. Of course, after this thought was said, it clicked in my head about the four Pevensie children in 'The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe' (the first Narnia movie) that when they first all went into Narnia together and found it to be cold, they grabbed the coats hanging in the wardrobe. These coats were twice, maybe even three times as large as they were because they were meant to grow into them, as each member of S-Squad must now do for the coats given to each of them.

Stay tuned for more news on the stirrings God is doing in our squad…
