On a Parapet
On a parapet of Fort Cornwallis,
I sit and reflect on the city of Georgetown–
A city caught up with idols and other gods,
A city dark at noontime,
Yet a city ready for spiritual upheaval
For revival and the explosion of God's grace!
Yes, i sit on a parapet of a fort
From ages past, a sentinel of the cape
And I pray, I pray, for God's presence
To rain, yes reign, down on the city
And on the island of Penang as a whole–
This turtle-shaped island of Penang.
On a parapet with a lighthouse before me,
A lighthouse for ships and waterways,
But soon, yes soon, will be transformed
Transformed to a lighthouse of God's Kingdom,
To shine His light upon the darkness
And overwhelm the enemy with His brightness!
So, I sit on a parapet and reflect,
Reflect on the goodness of a Father
Who loves every soul and longs for each one;
Reflect upon His steadfast mercy and truth
And say, nay declare, FLOW Mighty GOD
Through the streets and byways of great Georgetown.
On a parapet of Fort Cornwallis,
I sit and reflect on the city of Georgetown–
A city set to follow the One True GOD;
A city soon to be light to all others,
Always ready to be overflowed by God's love
And shine with a light unquenchable.
Yes, on a parapet of ages past
A new direction forever to last.

Lighthouse atop Fort Cornwallis
2nd poem:
Lighthouse
The ship lists from side to side
On the dark murky waters of the sea,
Mist and fog thicker than night itself
Oh, how the captain longs to see.
In the distance, light flashes
To provide the signal for danger
Of perilous rocks, jagged and steep–
So, heed the signal of the tower stranger.
Souls list through life
On dark and murky paths of lies,
Swirls of veils block the view of love–
Oh how the red-drip heart cries.
In the distance, light flashes
To provide the signal to a new Way
Of truth, strength, and perfect love,
So, follw Christ the Lighthouse on this day!
