Grace Rises from the Dead

In my last blog, I said I would write about a funeral and well this is hard to write. It is hard to write, because last year before I left for the Race, I ended up going to three funerals of three people close to me (my Granny, my coach–Corey Rolle, and my dear friend–Greg Harvison). They were each hard to deal with in their own way, but all helped me learn the fact that those faithful to God will be with Him in Heaven and that is exactly where these three individuals are located.

Anyways, today, we went to the funeral of a woman named Grace. It was hard to stand there and see the sorrow upon the faces of her loved ones. We got the pleasure of sharing the Gospel message about His 'Grace' and it was nothing short of amazing! (Emily Toles is phenomenal, so is Lindsay Dobner…just saying!)

So, you are probably wondering if we prayed over Grace to raise from the dead and what not. Well, as much as I would have loved the opportunity to do so and to see it come to pass, it was not the Lord's plan for us.

    However…

Grace indeed rose from the dead.

You see, after Emily shared the message and Lindsay shared a little bit more about losing a loved one, we had an invitation for anybody who would like to pray to receive the Lord as their Savior. At first, the crickets got loud and we almost finished there…BUT…

A young man, Hassan, stepped up to the plate and prayed to receive Christ as His personal Lord and Savior. It was exhilarating!! The very air danced with joy! For as one life, a sister in Christ, moved onward to spend eternity with Christ, another life, Hassan, entered into a right relationship with Christ and came to life as a new creation in Christ!! Hallelujah!!

So, Grace, our sister, didn't rise from the grave; however, by the time of those gathered around His GRACE rose from the dust to settle upon our new brother's heart and bring him into the Book of Life and the promise of eternity!! I hope you can be excited for this new brother as we are and pray for his growth in the Lord to come. I know for a fact that God has great plans for Hassan!! HALLELUJAH!!!!
