There is a feeling of uneasiness,
Each one of us knows it.
We know it’s the right path,
We know it’s the right time,
And yet…our hearts are heavy.
All the goodbyes (see you later)
Each one of the hugs, prayers, and best wishes reminds me of one thing.
This person who leaves is not the same person coming home.
But there is another feeling I am experiencing…
There is a feeling of urgency,
A need to follow what God is calling us to do.
To go…
Not to leave, but to go to people.
Go hear their story and tell them about my savior.
A man who came on this earth,
Knowing He would be killed on the cross.
Showing His love by accepting our pain and wrongdoings on that tree.
Why? to give us freedom
Freedom from pain, from hurt
Freedom to be loved.
There is uneasiness
There is urgency
There is sadness
There is excitement
These feelings are overwhelming,
but THE LORD, He is my rock
He is the reason
The reason I have new life,
Have FREEDOM and LOVE
The reason I am going,
To show His love, forgiveness and strength.
I know this will not be easy
but He has called US,
He has called me.
To go and tell people the good news.
There is a feeling of urgency.
My squad and I leave tomorrow morning for the airport to be out of the US for 11 months where we will be away from family, friends and all of the comforts of home.
Yesterday I said goodbye, or see you later, to my parents and it’s crazy, hard and exciting to think of being out of the US for that long.
This poem that I wrote shows just a little glimpse of my feeling and what has been going through my mind these last few days.
I’m very excited to continue this journey and please know this is not my journey alone. Each one of you has the opportunity this year to really press into God and all He has for you, in the states or out. I hope you take that opportunity!
I hope and pray that this year you take every moment to grow in all God wants for you.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for all of your support (both financially and spiritually). Please continue to be praying for my squad, my team, my family, me and the people we will meet.
God Bless and Much Love,
Bethaney
P.S. Thank you for reading this long post!
