Letters from the Church: Uganda

Today I will share words from my friend Marcus. Marcus is from South Sudan but he lives in Uganda now. I have never met him in person, but I met him virtually earlier this year. I was facilitating a course called “Blitz Week” for the GlobalU program. The week focuses on helping people find their life values, life vision statement, passions and dreams, and then creating sustainable goals to help them walk in self awareness and progression every day. Marcus was there every night even though it was 2 am his time!! He was so dedicated in making sure that the gifts that God has given him would be stewarded well. Enjoy this wise man’s words.

Hi Philip! Following the blitz course we did that lasted a few days, I wrote down some goals which I shared with you, entitled  “My Response To The Blitz Course.” One of which states, “By the end of 2020 I should have developed a time schedule to meet with some 10 young people at a time in my community to talk about Worship, learning music, creating art, doing self discovery exercises, and presenting scriptural oriented lessons on entrepreneurship with the aim of (1) Discovering our gifts and talents and purpose for our lives. (2) Discovering if there are those who have entrepreneurial abilities among ourselves. (3) Encouraging the nurturing of any discovered gifts, talents and abilities to growth.(4) Finding out how we can earn a living using what’s put in and around us”.

From the 1st of August 2020 I have been meeting with some young people every Saturday to discuss some lessons on Entrepreneurship and Bible, among the group members are testimonies that, “my way of thinking is changing” others’, “since we started meeting I’ve learned many things about business which is helping my dream of becoming a businessman” and many more… I have Joy that people are discovery their potential.

I am learning patience during this season of great and genuine needs, God is training my heart patience and trust in Him alone! His Promising Words and Joy has been what keep pushing and fueling my every move, I’m grateful!

Attached are some pictures of our meetings of different dates.
