Food around the world is great.
New spices, new flavors, who WOULDN’T appreciate
the stews, the veggies, the fruits all around,
We’ve been eating all the best in town.
I love it, trust me, trying new food is so fun.
But with food from America? I’m not quite done.
The sweet icy taste of Chick-fil-A’s sweet tea,
Accompanied by a large waffle fry (all for me).
Or even a cone of Black Raspberry Chip,
Following the goodness of a late-night Canes trip.
Did someone say Moon Pies? Cus that’s what MY stomach wants.
Maybe we can grab one after Bagel & Deli for lunch.
Skyline’s great and all, surely the bomb,
But nothing beats homemade food from Mama and Mum.
Chicken broccoli braid and noodle casserole have gotta be my faves,
These are dishes we don’t make often that I wish would last for DAYS.
Snacking on peanut butter crackers with Papa is another thing I miss.
And while we’re talking about snacking, gotta add chocolate to the list.
Trust me, we’ve found some amazing chocolate everywhere we’ve gone,
But nothing beats a classic Hershey’s bar in s’mores on the front lawn.
I’m not trying to complain, I’m quite content with the food I’ve been able to eat!
But all my classic American favorites…? They just can’t be beat.
