ANATOMY OF A
WORLD RACER:

Leaving the hotel in Miami to head to the airport. Off to Ecuador!!!

1. Toms. Essential missionary/style/humanitarian statement shoes.
2. The one pair of jeans you’re wearing for a year, absolutely necessary
to wear on travel days to make sure your pack doesn’t weigh too much.
3. World Race T-Shirt (can’t see it here, but it’s pretty much awesome.)
4. Sling purse, preferably made in a third world country (in this case, Guatemala).
5. Nalgene, complete with stickers from past travel so ours all look different
(because we ALL have nalgenes.)
6. Waterproof sport watch. The kind most people would never wear on a regular
basis, but extremely important since we’ll be switching time zones constantly and
jumping in random rivers.
7. Daypack. Full of all your electronics, toiletries, and other things that we will not

survive the world race without.
8. Aviators. Enough said.
9. Camera bag, in mouth. Fully accessible for the random photographic opportunity.
(Sometimes this place is taken by the passport/boarding pass.
10. Gigantic backpack. Full of clothing, a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, and
the three pairs of shoes we will survive this year with.

Thanks soooo much for your prayers! This week was such
a wonderful transition between home and the race. We
met so many wonderful families and people. We got to
share about the Lord with people on our flights, our taxi
drivers, and the hotel concierge was actually applying for
The World Race! Small world! We also were able to serve
dinner at a Christian camp, make friends with some
awesome kids, relax in the pool and at the beach, compare
what we all packed, and trek to the airport. Our flight
leaves in about an hour – OH. MY. GOSH.
See y’all in Quito!

P.S.K. I didn’t forget, see! I love you so much girl, and it was such a blessing to meet you. You are beautiful and lovely and special and talented, and I promise I’ll never ever forget you. I had so much fun with you and can’t wait to see you again. We all have told our whole squad about you and how awesome you are. I. miss. you. Kendall. 🙂
