¡Buenas!

Thank you Jesus for every single day this week! First week of ministry was incredible. We got super immersed into the culture while staying in San Antonio with our ministry hosts. We have the sweetest family (Erica y Eddie) who have showed us so much hospitality. Erica has cooked us every meal so we have truly experienced the authentic food here & it has been amazing. They live in the middle of San Antonio, so we have been able to walk to ministry and everywhere we need to go which has been a blast.

Some highlights from this week:

  • Teaching English to the kiddos. I think I learned more Spanish than I taught tho!
  • House visits & sharing who Jesus is personally to us with with a struggling family.
  • Worship Room- a worship night at a coffee shop in Antigua with a bunch of locals & tourists. Worship in Spanish is absolutely beautiful.
  • Soccer- All. Day. Long. If you know me, you know this is where my heart is. I got to play and assist coaching the teams they have!
  • A beautiful hike up the volcano with our new Guatemalan friends. I’m in awe of Gods creation here.
  • Experiencing the Guatemalan church named “Espíritu y Fuego” (Spirit and Fire) & getting the opportunity to share what the Lord is doing in my life since I have been here.

I love seeing Jesus in the little things. Like the old ladies who smile at us on the streets, and the joy on the little children’s faces while they jump all over us, and the presence of the Lord during worship, even when I don’t understand the words.

Tomorrow (Monday) we will be heading back to the Missions Base and will continue ministry with Hope next week. This week has been overwhelming and exhausting and beautiful and rewarding all at the same time. It is truly hard to put into words all that the Lord is doing but I want to share a glimpse of it with you all.

Love,

Ashley
