I applied for the World Race back in April. After my last year of high school, I took a gap year and worked. I hated where I worked. That year was really hard for me. I felt alone because all of my friends had gone to college. I also felt empty because I had no idea what I had wanted to do or study, and everyone seemed like they knew what they wanted. During that time where everything seemed like it was going wrong, I knew something needed to change. I started thinking what was going to happen after that year. That’s when I started looking around for opportunities and started praying about what was to come for me.  The World Race kept coming up in my thoughts. I started to do some research about it and it seemed like something I would love to do and that God might be nudging me towards. I also looked into another gap year mission trip, YWHAM. After lots of Prayer and deliberation, I felt God was calling me more to The World Race. When I was accepted, I was so excited! Thats’s when I knew God had opened that door and He was leading me towards this adventure.

Ever since Covid-19 came into our world and changed almost everything, a lot of people have been leaving our squad. I felt God leading me to stay me in the World Race, despite all the changes.

My first ever mission trip was actually after my senior year and loved it. It was a basketball camp down in Jamaica. That’s where I felt like God was calling me to.
